This is a conflict of logic based on Pinocchio's famous children's story, whose nose grew whenever he told a lie.
Imagine Pinocchio saying the phrase:
"My nose will grow up now."
In this case, two equally valid hypotheses could happen:
1) Pinocchio's nose does not grow. Then he told a lie, so the nose must grow;
2) Pinocchio's nose grows. Then he told a truth, so his nose had no reason to have grown.
In both cases, a contradiction would be generated, because if the nose grows it should not have grown and if it does not grow it should have grown.
