How are the Mega-Sena odds calculated?

Bet with 6 numbers

In Mega-Sena six distinct numbers are drawn from 1 to 60. Since no matter the order in which these numbers are drawn, the total amount of possible outcomes is calculated using a combination of 60 elements taken 6 to 6.

Here's how this step-by-step calculation is done, which can be done instantly with our math simulator.

Calculation performed by the mathematical solver

Therefore, there are over 50 million possible outcomes. This means that if you place a 6-number bet, your chance of hitting the seine will be 1 out of 50,063,860.

Bet with 7 numbers

If you place a 7-bet, which costs a little more money, your chances of winning are greatly increased. Note that there are now 7 combinations that would make you a millionaire:

So your chances would be 7 out of 50,063,860, so:

This means your odds will be 1 on 7,151,980.

Bet with 8 numbers

If you place a bet with 8 numbers, your odds increase even more. Note that there are now 28 combinations that would make you a millionaire:

So your chances would be 28 out of 50,063,860, so:

This means your odds will be 1 out of 1,787,995.

The same procedure can be done for bets of 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15 tens, which is the maximum. Check out the table below for a summary of all Mega-Sena odds.
